Finals can be challenging but remember you’ve been preparing for this moment all semester. Trust in the hard work you’ve already put in and give yourself grace during these final days. Take breaks when you need them, rest your mind, and keep believing in your ability to succeed.
As you head into your exams, remember these words from James Baldwin: “Beyond talent lie all the usual words: discipline, love, luck—but, most of all, endurance.” You have what it takes to endure and finish strong!
As we approach Thanksgiving, take a moment to reflect on how far you’ve come and show gratitude for your resilience and growth. The Student Success team is rooting for you every step of the way. F1RST-Gen College Celebration Luncheon

The F1RST-Generation College Celebration Luncheon on November 7, 2024, was an unforgettable event for TC first-gen students! We kicked things off with the F1RST-Gen affirmation, setting a powerful tone, followed by an inspiring talk from Dr. Lloyd Jackson, Superintendent of Texarkana Arkansas School District and a TC TRIO alum.
After recognizing our TRIO-EOC Scholarship recipients, we celebrated two standout achievements: Texarkana College’s Adult Education program
received the prestigious EOC Overcoming Barriers Scholarship Partnership Award, honoring its commitment to supporting students through challenges.
Plus, Chaddrick Moore was celebrated as a Student Success Unsung Hero for his dedication and impact on student success.
The food, catered by Liberty-Eylau High School and TC Culinary programs, was a hit—topped off with cookies from The Cake House. The selfie station kept everyone buzzing, capturing memories. Missed out? Be sure to catch our next event and join in the fun!
